Ryan's
"V"
lunch:
side of
Veggie
Booty;
Thermos
of vanilla
ice
cream;
Valencia
oranges;
Viennese
carrots;
vegetable
fried
rice.
Sticking
strictly
to the
letter
of the day hasn't always yielded the prettiest food combinations, but today's looked really nice I think.
7:30am- smoothie: 2 strawberries, 1/4 cup black raspberries, 1/2 mango, 1/2 banana, liquid DHA, water.
10am- 1/2 an avocado.
12pm- carrot "chips" w/sprouted chick pea hummus; 10 olive
2pm- 6 strawberries w/
walnut-cashew creme.
6pm- salad: romaine &
bib lettuces, tomato, red
onion, yellow bell pepper,
snow peas sprouts, shoyu.
Ryan had a friend over
after school, so I made
cupcakes and let them all decorate their own. I didn't want to be too jealous, so I put 6 frozen strawberries into a bowl and allowed them to thaw partially, then topped them with walnut-cashew creme. Delish.
par for the course. I'll
admit that I'm already
imagining what pasta
awaits me when the 40
days are up!

Yum, digging the ice cream bento!
Wow! How did that work? - the packed ice cream? Was it still firm or soup by the time he ate it?
We've tried ice cream once before and it worked great! He said it was soft and creamy, but not at all soupy...so just right I guess. I put the Thermos open in the freezer beforehand, and I don't pack it til the last minute. Elementary school here starts later than in many towns, so it's only in his lunchbox from 8:45am (when he leaves the house) until 12:10pm (he's in the second lunch group). So 3+ hours.
Alie, your blog keeps jumping to various ads, weird. My browser won't stay on it long enough to view your lunches! :o(
I have no clue what the problem is with my blog today! I had thought it was a blogspot problem until I checked yours and yours isn't having any problems... Hmmm... I wonder if there is an e-mail for blogspot or something?
Anyway, thanks for the info on the ice cream. I may have to try that sometime!
Ok.. I THINK the blog is fixed. :)
