winding down

It was a good week, but I'm glad the weekend is here, even if my husband has to work. Sometimes I just enjoy cooking whatever is left in the fridge...in this case, I need to empty it out to give it a good cleaning, as I finish using up the last remnants of CSA food.

Ryan's lunch: 3 kinds of crackers; a tiny Pez pack from Halloween; cucumber slices; soy cheese & Tofurky "bears"; grapes; hidden underneath are celery sticks; on the side a flax plus pumpkin granola bar (a free sample from the food festival last weekend).

Our meals for the day...

...roasted cauliflower &
broccoli; cous cous; spicy
tomato & "bacon" strips.

And for dinner...

...chips; 6 layer bean dip;
plate of veggies & apple
slices...

Maia is entering this dress-up
stage which is totally foreign
to me after 3 boys!

All week long we've enjoyed these fabulous seed pods outside of the school when we go to pick up AJ. We've read The Tiny Seed a few times at home.

Maia loves watching them
float away on the wind...
"ooooooooooohhhh!"

That lunch looks good. Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. Your little girl is really sweet! I can't wait till my girls enter the dressing up stage!

oh man, that bean dip looks fantastic! As for dressing up, my boy is WAY more into costumes than my girl (still! and he's 6!) He had a whole stock of costumes to choose from for Halloween, and she was happy to use one of his old POWER RANGER costumes for herself, *sigh*.
