XLIV

It was hard to get a clear photo this morning. I stepped outside into single digit temps in my pajamas as usual, but had trouble keeping steady in the cold wind!

I don't care about football one bit, but I don't want to deprive Ryan...not that he likes football much either! But he does enjoy most other sports...
Ryan's lunch: Saints vs. Colts rice balls; grapes; blanched spinach; vegetable gyoza; meatless meatballs.

I got a quick hike in before more snow arrived though...

A view down to our neighborhood area.
Mud crystals!

  1. That's an awesome bento and the goal post pick is great! How did you cut the logos? They are so tiny! :D

  2. Awesome goal and football picks! Did he play with those for awhile? :D
Agree about the fine cutting of the logos; well done, and they look great against the white rice!

  3. I cut the logos freehand before making the rice balls and in retrospect I should have cut them bigger, but that's how much rice I had and it was about right for his appetite, so I just went with the smaller logos because I didn't have any more time. The Saints is just nori cut with scissors by eye (and there's a little piece that broke as nori often does but you never know when you'll hit a spot that's not so sturdy), and the Colts horseshoe is white soy cheese cut with a paring knife (not the best job really, my 3yo was bumping my arm and talking my ear off while I was doing it) and it's colored with a blue food marker.
